Cuppa Love Tag Set - FabScraps

Cuppa Love Shabby Chic Tag Set by Dana Tatar for FabScraps

Hi! I'm sharing a tag set that I created for FabScraps using the C95 For the Love of Tea Collection today. I had a lot of fun with both color and texture for this tag duo. One of my favorite products by FabScraps is the amazing collection of coordinating chipboard that comes with each line. They really make designing fun as the options to personalize the raw chipboard are endless. I didn't use any fancy techniques to alter the chipboard for these tags, but rather focused on bold color.

To begin, I brushed a layer of gesso over two tags. Next, I placeed the Parasol stencil over the tags and spread molding paste over the top. While the paste was still wet, I sprayed the tags with pink, blue, and gray mist. Once the tags were dry, I glued torn pieces of Social Tea patterned paper blue lace side up to the tags and then added flower clusters cut from the Prepare for Tea patterned paper, flowers and leaves, stick pins, and cheesecloth onto the center of the tags.

I built a layered chipboard embellishment for the center of each tag with three pieces of chipboard; a tag that I covered with High Tea patterned paper, a chipboard Heart Teacup with Saucers, and a chipboard word (either Cuppa or Love, which is sold as one set). I colored the tea cups and words with pigment ink and then brushed the edges of the chipboard cups and words with brown dye ink. I add a mini clothespin to the top of each chipboard tag.

I colored the edges of each tag with pink watercolor paint and then dry brushed gesso over each tag for a shabby look. I finished each tag by using white twine to attach seam binding bows to the top for a pop of color.
